Rahu

Rahu is the north node of the moon, as Ketu is the south node of the moon. These two together form the karmic axis in your Vedic astrology birth chart, as the head and tail of the serpent the Gods use to churn the ocean to purify into an essence, the Soma of immortality.

Ketu as the tail of the serpent, means to cut, remove, loose or be liberated from, and shows our past and what we bring from it into this life. He is the most spiritual of all planets.

Rahu is the north, the head and impels us to manifest our dharma in this life. He points us to our true north, depending on his placement in our chart. He is also known as the trickster, cloaked in smoke and illusion, holding the illusive carrot that represents our deepest unconscious desires. He is chaos, poison, healing remedies, futuristic ideas, media, science fiction and technology.

The USA and other western countries such as the UK are in the planetary period of Rahu which lasts 18 years. Like individuals, countries go through periods in which different planets influence destiny for varying periods of time, depending where the moon was placed in the birth chart of the nation. We still have 15 years of Rahu rulership, so we are not out of the woods.. These periods are called dashas. The beginning of this phase saw the beginning of the pandemic, when the world turned upside down. The definition of words changed, our understanding of reality, history, the role of government, concepts of freedom, were all shown to be illusionary in various ways. Western countries under this influence fared the worst in terms of loss of life and livelihood. Truth became a shifting sand. Coercion and deception perpetuated chaos and yet, through this churning a new essence of light ermerges as the thread of hope to rebuild on a firm foundation on the principles, of love, light, healing and respect for the planet and all beings. What was hidden has been exposed, poisons lurking in the shadows are revealed to be transmuted. Isolation brought some to despair and others into deep spiritual connection and we came to appreciate the importance of love over all differences.
